Virgin Suicides

I have just finished reading this beautiful, hypnotising and compelling book documenting the highs and lows of teen angst. The Lisbon girls are the centre of every boys incomprehensible obsession, mostly because the girls are sheltered and detached from their world. They boys can do nothing but look on, fantasise about conversations and qualities of the girls, who they will never get to know much less understand.

The film (Sofia Coppola 1999) does all this whistful thinking and feminine mystic every justice in the film. Which is safe to say has cast its spell on me, and I find myself in the same position as thosepoor boys. Completely and utterly obsessed with the Lisbon girls.
